Emma Posman started her musical training at the MaGo in Ghent and later on at the MuDa with Philippe Wesemael. At present, she studies Voice at the Royal Conservatory Ghent with Hendrickje Van Kerckhove. She has already received her Bachelor’s degree magna cum laude.
In the past, she followed masterclasses with Dietrich Henschel, Zeger Vandesteene, Gidon Saks, Salome Kammer, Jennifer Hamilton, Yva Barthélémy, Valerie Girard and others.
Emma won the First Prize, the Prize awarded by the Public and the Special Prize ‘Eté Mosan’ in the International Competition Bell’Arte. She won the soloist competition at the Ghent Conservatory twice, enabling her to perform with an orchestra conducted by Dirk Brossé. She was a finalist of the Maria Caniglia Competition in Sulmona, Italy and won the Third Prize in the Triomphe de l’Art International Competition in Brussels.
In operas staged at home and abroad, she sang the parts of Flora in Turn of the Screw (Britten) Plaisir and Naiade in Armide (Gluck), Second woman and First witch in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) , Damigella in L’incoronazione di Popea (Monteverdi), La Princesse in L’enfant et les sortileges (Ravel) and Lucinda in Conti’s Don Chisciotte in Sienna Morena directed by Sigrid T’hooft. She also sang opera and operette scenes at the Flemish Opera in Ghent and with the Arte Vocale ensemble led by Erika Pauwels.
She is also active as a soloist in oratoria and concerts. She’s quite experienced in bringing modern-day works and was asked to sing creations of the following composers: Henk De Bruycker, Dirk Blockeel, Lucien Posman, Sina Rahimi Fetrati, Arne Gunst, Ward De Vleeshouwer, Evert Bogaert and many more.
